A motorist died in Jurupa Valley early Thursday, Jan. 9 in what sheriff’s officials said was a hit-and-run collision.
The crash happened just before 1:30 a.m. among three passenger vehicles and a flatbed trailer on Van Buren Boulevard near Studio Place. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
Two of the other drivers stayed as required by law, but the driver of the flatbed drove away, leaving behind the trailer that had become detached before the collision, the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department said.
The news release did not offer a description of the fleeing driver or his vehicle.
The dead man’s name was not released.
The department asked anyone with information to call Deputy Adam Ditfurth at 951-955-2600.
