Virginia State Police are on the scene of a crash involving an RV along Interstate 95 in Prince George County.

Police said that at 1:19 p.m. today an RV pulling a Chevy Equinox ran off the right side of I-95 and hit a guard rail. The vehicles then fell into a creek below. The crash happened along northbound I-95 just south of the I-295 merge, south of Petersburg.

Once person was flown to VCU Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. A second person was taken to the same hospital in an ambulance.

State police are still investigating the incident, but a preliminary investigation shows the crash happened after the right front tire on the RV blew out.

Police said to expect traffic delays in the area for the next several hours.
