In 1971 J. Standard Baker Quoted " Drivers Towing Trailers  Are Four (4) Times As Unsafe As Those In Cars Alone!

In the United States no police agency or public safety political leader cares about safety for "Passenger Vehicles That Tow Trailers"

The Police have never done what the ESSEX Police have done in England now I have a few that I can point to...but 99% of the police and traffic safety police ignore unsafe trailers.  Since 1975 Over 25,000 Dead Men, Women And Children by a "Passenger Vehicle That Is Towing A Trailer"

We have the data...and we have the names who is reponsible for all of this.   So when we have these quotes:

  • Pc Gary Winfield, of Essex Police's Casualty Reduction Unit, said: "The operation was a success with officers finding 20 vehicles being towed in dangerous condition. If these vehicles were allowed to continue on their journeys, there could have been very serious consequences.
  • "Our officers dealt with all offending drivers at the roadside by either forcing them to make changes to their vehicles, by issuing fines and in one case, seizing a car.

  • "There are absolutely no excuses for vehicles being towed dangerously, which could potentially cause serious injury or death. We will continue to carry out more of these operations to help make the county's roads safer."

Well in the United States we have nobody in law enforcement that has the same passion as PC Gary Winfield Police....Memo  28 Cops, 2 Fireman and 1 FBI agent have also been killed in the United States along with over 25,000 since 1975 and PC Gary Winfield the police do not seem to care. .... Maybe on day they will change their minds? Instead of harassing our cause....maybe we can get them to help save lives.

An Essex Police operation monitoring trailer and caravan safety in Chelmsford has found 20 vehicles that are being dangerously towed.

Road policing officers stopped 27 vehicles at the Boreham Services Lorry Park in Chelmsford, close to junction 19 on the A12, on August 1, alongside their partners at the Central Registration and Identification Scheme.

During the operation, officers pulled over vehicles that were towing trailers or caravans and found that only seven of the 27 vehicles were totally clear of any faults.

Three of the vehicles were found to have incorrectly fitted or no breakaway cables fitted at all, whilst one had poorly fitted tyres, four had no extendable mirrors fitted, three had inoperative lights on the trailer and one driver was found to be driving otherwise than in accordance with his driving licence. He was given a fixed penalty notice.

Officers also found that four vans were overweight and one car was stopped after the driver was not wearing a seatbelt and had no insurance. The driver was fined and his vehicle was seized by the police.
