AUSTINTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) - The boat trailer of an Austintown couple detached from their pickup while they were driving down Interstate 80 Friday evening.

The trailer weaved its way through freeway traffic before hitting a guardrail, launching the boat into a ditch.

It happened around 6 p.m. on I-80 in Austintown, a mile west of Route 46.

According to people on the scene, the couple was headed to Lake Milton when the trailer detached.

The trailer -- with the boat on it -- crossed the median and managed to roll through the eastbound lanes without getting hit.

When the trailer hit the guardrail, the boat went airborne and settled into the ditch against a fence.

Amazingly, no one was hurt.

It took the towing company over two hours to clean it up.
