BUCKHANNON — The West Virginia State Police is investigating the theft of a dump trailer from Highland Nursery on Route 151.
The black dump trailer was first reported stolen to Cpl. V.J. Pyles on Saturday, March 17, but surveillance footage shows the truck was actually taken on Saturday, March 8, just before midnight.
Pyles said the owner was out of town and noticed the dump trailer was missing when he returned.
Although surveillance footage shows the trailer being taken, it is hard to make out additional details.
A vehicle, a dark in color, possibly a Chevy Silverado, pulled up and an individual connected the trailer to the truck and then left.
“Due to the snow and it being dark, we weren’t able to see it as clearly,” Pyles said.
The black dump trailer has wooden boards — painted black on one side and unpainted on the other side. The brand name of the trailer is Dump Maxx.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Pyles at 304-473-4200.
