This is an extension of issues with unregulated utility trailers. These utility trailers are also used in hay rides and parades. This October I have recorded over 7 accidents involving these utility trailers being used on hay rides. They don't have working taillights, no inspections, very little training and they can be made homemade.

In Midland County, a hay ride turned deadly Saturday when one of two trailers carrying 24 people ran over a 45-year-old woman, sheriff's deputies said. About 7:30 p.m., Kathleen Crawford of Greendale Township fell out of the first of the trailers, towed behind a 1986 Ford Econoline van traveling west on West Bradford. A wheel from the rear trailer struck and killed Crawford. The hay-ride train, with one single and one double-axle trailer, was traveling between 5 and 10 mph, deputies said.
